Royal Parks

Royal Parks, Regent's ParkThe Royal Parks are unique. Situated in and around Central London, the 5,000 acres that form the Royal Parks contain everything from palaces and memorials to a pet cemetery; open meadow and grassland to dense woodland; historic vistas and tree-lined avenues to views over today's London. People walk dogs, ride bikes and horses, go jogging or boating - and many simply enjoy time out from the bustle of the city.

The Royal Parks are Hyde Park, The Green Park, St James's  Park, The Regent's Park, Greenwich Park, Bushy Park, Richmond Park and Kensington Gardens. In addition, The Royal Parks cares for Brompton Cemetery, Victoria Tower Gardens and Grosvenor Square Gardens - not only the parkland but the internal buildings (including Park Lodges), lakes, rivers, statues, fountains and roads (including Regent's Park Inner Circle, North, South and West Carriage Drives and Horseguards Parade). It doesn't, however, include areas managed by concessionaires such as The Serpentine Gallery and the respective parks cafés.

Filming in The Royal Parks
The Royal Parks actively supports and encourages filming. The type of filming is generally unrestricted, with the exception being projects that might be deemed socially irresponsible or disrespectful. The Royal Parks' filming contacts endeavour to acknowledge receipt of applications within 24 hours (no later than 48 hours). A set of Filming and Photography Guidelines is available online, with full details of The Royal Parks filming policy, application procedure and filming contacts.
Parking can often be made available and film-makers should discuss their requirements with the relevant filming contact. Vehicular access within the Parks depends on factors such as time of year, weather/ground conditions, precise location etc. Crew cars are discouraged.

Fees are flexible and are based on the size of the production, the number of cast and crew, the number and size of vehicles, the amount of time required, the level of disruption to the public and wildlife, the PR or profile benefit to The Royal Parks.

Wherever possible, the following credit should be used: 'We are grateful to The Royal Parks, London for some of the locations used'.

Projects Which Have Filmed in The Royal Parks
The Royal Parks have been host to much filming in the past. Recent examples include Children of Men, Mrs Henderson Presents, Match Point, Wimbledon, Die Another Day, Absolutely Fabulous, In Deep, Bridget Jones II, Longitude, Blue Peter and Inside Out. The Royal Parks are very keen to continue working on film, TV and stills to help productions achieve their objectives.
