Mediabox
In 2008 The Department for Children Schools and Families has allocated £2 million
for Mediabox which will be delivered by a consortium of First Light Movies, Media
Trust, Skillset and the UK Film Council.
The initiative offers 13-19 year olds the opportunity to develop and produce
creative media projects, using film, television, print, radio or online platforms.
Mediabox is for young people to: express their own opinions, ideas and views,
gain new skills, encourage creativity, boost personal development and get their
voices heard.
Film London is helping to coordinate the project in the London region.
There are no more funding deadlines for Mediabox 2008.
The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) has committed further
funding to a Youth Media Fund to run between April 2009 and March 2011. Please
refer to the DCSF website early in 2009 to find out how to access this funding. We recommend signing up to the Film London weekly bulletin for further updates about the Youth Media Fund.
